A Carestia Establishment

In the early 70s, Ralph and Shirley Carestia received a phone call from Blue Knob Marketing

A Vision

Ralph, Shirley and their 5 children lived just outside of Washington, D.C. One day, they received a call from Blue Knob marketing. Blue Knob was trying to get people from the DC area to visit the ski resort and look at property. While the Carestia family had never been skiing in their lives, they were always up for adventure. When the family saw Blue Knob, Ralph had a vision of the years to follow with his children skiing and their children skiing and so on. It would always be a place where family would come together to ski, dine laugh and enjoy each other’s company. Ralph designed the house for maximum capacity, found a builder and so started the vision finding its reality.

In 2009, One of Ralph’s children, Angela and spouse, Michael, bought the house. They continue to keep it a family home. And, just as Ralph and Shirley have done for almost 40 years, Angela and Michael rent the downstairs to invited others to share in the magic created here.

On any winter weekend, you can always find a gathering of friends and family.
